To use the Personal eSIM, your vehicle with BMW iDrive and Operating System 8 requires the optional equipment Personal eSIM (SA 6PA) and Teleservice (SA 6AE). The Personal eSIM option includes the BMW Personal Hotspot.
The availability of the Personal eSIM depends on your country and the offer of your mobile phone provider. It can only be used with mobile phone contracts from BMW cooperation partners. How can I use Personal eSIM?
To use Personal eSIM in your BMW, you need to activate Personal eSIM with your mobile provider (one-time set up). The activation can be carried out independently of the vehicle, for example in the profile section of My BMW App or the My BMW Web.
Please verify in advance whether the vehicle and your mobile provider support Personal eSIM.
Can I use the Personal eSIM in a BMW not owned by me?
Yes. Once you have activated your Personal eSIM with your mobile phone provider, you can also use it in other BMW vehicles with Operating System 8 and the optional equipment "Personal eSIM" (SA 6PA) to make phone calls or transfer data.
